George Fischer Introduces Large Diameter Pipe Sizes in PP-n for New BCF Plus® Machine

TUSTIN, Calif. April 8, 2003 - In response to market demand for high GPM chemical, slurry, and water distribution piping systems, George Fischer Inc. has introduced large diameter pipe sizes in 75, 90 and 110 mm. The product range expansion is designed for use with George Fischer's new BCF® Plus (bead and crevice-free) Fusion Machine, which uses standard butt fusion fittings that not only reduce costs, but also allow for more compact installations.

The purity and chemical resistance properties of PP-n (polypropylene natural), combined with the strong, reproducible fusion welds created without any irregularities, beads or
crevices by the BCF Plus Fusion machine, make the system ideally suited for semiconductor slurry applications as well as chemical and water applications in pharmaceutical, food processing, and medical markets. With the expanded sizes of 75, 90 and 110mm (2-1/2", 3", and 4"), the complete PP-n dimension range offering is now 20mm (1/2") - 110mm (4"), providing an extensive range of sizes to fulfill virtually any requirement.

The BCF Plus unit offers the ability to fuse different materials with the convenience of a single machine and can join SYGEF® PVDF-HP, SYGEF® PVDF Standard, and PP-n piping components. Equipped with both 110V and 230V plug interfaces to avoid dependency on main voltages, the BCF Plus machine is nearly 38% smaller than the previous system, enabling remote fusion in difficult areas. Additional features include code-access protection and acceptance of up to 8 programmable language instruction sets.

Also being introduced with the new system is a variety of convenient and cost-effective kits, which can be or purchased with the base machine package, or later if needed. The BCF Plus Fusion machine can come fully equipped with the complete dimensional package of facing tools, clamping units, clamping inserts and supporting tools to fulfill dimensions from 20 mm to 110mm. The machine can also be purchased with a package to handle dimensions of 20 - 63mm only, or a package to handle 75mm - 110mm only.

The versatile, compact BCF Plus machine is easily transported to remote installation sites in its special high purity transport crate, which doubles as a garage, to ensure safe machine and accessory transport. Providing optimum convenience, the unit's stainless steel tool cart can be easily wheeled to any location needed, including clean rooms. Several accessories are also available to make the operator's job easier. These include facer, back support, hose box and card for electronic evaluation of fusion data.

The BCF Plus machine complies with the highest EMI (electro-mechanical interference) specifications and provides complete traceability of fusion data. A PCMCIA card and software allows easy electronic documentation without requiring paper printouts, and an integral circular buffer accepts up to 1800 fusion protocols. George Fischer also offers a complete certification training program for the BCF Plus system.

The George Fischer, Inc. product offering includes a full range of plastic pipe, fittings, valves, actuators, rotameters, fusion machines, secondary containment, tank linings, heat exchangers, custom products, and sensors and instrumentation for industrial process control.
