Littelfuse Announces New Lead-Free 2AG, 3AG, 3AB and 5 x 20mm Fuses

Fuses Meet Worldwide Standards for Lead-Free Product Content

DES PLAINES, Illinois, May 03, 2005 - To meet the growing needs of manufacturers who must meet worldwide lead-free manufacturing requirements, Littelfuse, inc. (NASDAQ/NMS:LFUS) has introduced lead-free versions of its 2AG, SAG, 3AB and 5 x 20mm form factor fuses.

The release is another in a series of major lead-free product releases by Littelfuse, which has pledged to reduce or eliminate lead in all of its product lines. The company's goal is to allow end-product manufacturers to comply with emerging worldwide lead-free initiatives such as Europe's Restriction of the use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electronic and Electronic Equipment, (RoHS) and the Japanese Electronics Industry Development Association lead-free product roadmap.

The new fuses also comply with electronic industry manufacturing standards for lead-free circuit board content including IEC 60068-2-20 as well as the EIA-IS-722 (Low Voltage Supplemental Fuse Qualification Specification), CSA and UL approvals.

Designed to withstand the higher temperatures associated with lead-free wave soldering, the new fuses offer the same performance specifications as the company's conventional 5 x 20mm, 2AG, SAG and SAB fuses, but in a lead-free package.

5 x 20mm series are currently available in full production quantities. 2AG, SAG, and SAB series are available for sampling and will be available June 2005 in full production quantities. Full electrical parameters and performance characteristics are available via datasheets at www.Littelfuse.com. The lead-free fuse series range in price between $0.095 - $0.50 US, in production volume. For pricing in various currencies, please contact Littelfuse.
