They incorporate ESD spring technology, 2 grounding pins, and 2 locking screws. To provide all-in-one solution, handles are mounted to ATCA board on reference-plane side of panel. Filler panels are available for empty slots and provide ESD protection.

All-In-One Solution From Elma For AdvancedTCA Front Panels
FREMONT, California, Jun. 03, 2004 - Elma Electronic Inc., a global manufacturer of electronic packaging products, has announced new AdvancedTCA front panels. The all-in-one solution design allows boards of various thicknesses to be mounted on the same handle, reducing product iterations and saving costs.
The Elma AdvancedTCA front panels are 8U x 6HP and conform to the PICMG 3.0 specification. To save costs and provide an all-in-one solution, the Elma handles are mounted to the ATCA board on the reference-plane side of the panel. With this technique, the company avoids having to manufacture different panels for each board thickness. The front panels can be used for boards with thicknesses of 1.6 mm to 2.4 mm.
The ATCA front panels incorporate Elma's ESD spring technology, two grounding pins, and two locking screws. Also available are front panel filler panels for empty slots. The filler panels are also designed for ESD protection.
