April 12, 2010 - Datel Digital Panel Meters ACM20 series measures and displays frequency in Hertz in addition to indicating true-rms AC Volts, Amps, and Watts. Measurement ranges of 0-32 and 0-100 A respectively offer resolutions of 0.01 and 0.1 A. Accurately displaying true-rms voltage and current values of triangle/square waves and other irregularly shaped waveforms, UL-Approved products feature typical FS accuracy of ±0.5%. Max power reading for 100 A models is 26.4 kW.

Murata Power Solutions Adds Frequency Reading Models to Its Range of Four-Function AC Power Meters

New models provide Hertz reading capability plus true-rms Volts & Amps and Watts
All ACM20 models gain UL safety agency approvals
Maximum power reading for 100A models increased to 26.4kW
Universal 85 to 264VAC operating voltage

Murata Power Solutions has expanded its offering of Datel Digital Panel Meters with two new additions to its ACM20 series of Four-Function AC Power Meters. The new models are able to able to measure and display frequency in Hertz (Hz) in addition to indicating true-rms AC Volts (V), Amps (A) and Watts (W); existing models display Power Factor rather than frequency.

The new additions to the range are the ACM20-5-AC1-R-F-C offering a measurement range of 0 to 32A (with 0.01A resolution), and the ACM20-4-AC1-R-F-C that has a 0 to 100A range (with 0.1A resolution). Enhancements to existing models, and also incorporated in the new meters, are UL safety agency approvals, and an increase in the maximum power reading for 100A models from 9999W to 26.4kW.

Broadening the range and measurement capability of the ACM20 series makes the AC Power Meters suitable for use in more applications including those in emerging markets such as alternative energy and residential energy monitoring. The ACM20 series has a typical full-scale accuracy of ±0.5% and unlike conventional average-responding products, accurately displays true-rms voltage and current values of triangle and square waves plus other irregularly shaped waveforms.

The ACM20 series features a large 9.2mm (0.36in.), four-digit, bright red LED display that allows measurements to be easily read from distances of up to five metres. A front panel selector switch provides two modes of operation: a fixed reading of any of the four parameters, or a continuous cycling through of all four measurements. The one-piece, vibration resistant polycarbonate housing is suitable for installation in vertical 0U and 1U rack spaces.

A universal 85 to 264VAC (@47 to 63Hz) operating voltage allows the compact, rugged, surface mount ACM20 series to be used worldwide. Overall dimensions are 53.3mm (2.1in.) x 36.3mm (1.43in.) x 12.95mm (0.51in.) and operating temperature range is 0°C to +60°C.
