ABTech Introduces New Air Bearing Based MicroForm(TM) Gage for Form Measurements

ABTech Inc, an ultra-precision air bearing metrology gage manufacturer in Swanzey, New Hampshire, introduces the all new air bearing based MicroForm(TM) Gage model µFG150. This compact gage is designed around an air bearing rotary axis with micro-inch (nanometer) accuracy, ensuring precise, repeatable measurements and years of maintenance-free operation. All thermal and vibration sources that commonly contribute to measurement errors have been purposefully isolated from the part being measured. State-of-the-art electronics provide nearly instantaneous results and "field programmable" flexibility for system updates.

ABTech developed proprietary µicroForm software that simplifies operation for shop floor use, yet offers full function analysis capabilities for quality control labs. On-screen "step-by-step" instructions are available to assist novice operators with proper setup and measurement, without hindering the efficiency of more experienced users. Intuitive navigation through the touch-screen activated color monitor easily triggers the most complex of ASTM internationally accepted algorithms. Forms measured include runout, roundness, flatness, parallelism, squareness and concentricity along with a unique wedge option for precision optical applications. An Ethernet connection quickly saves test results to networked drives for statistical process control and document traceability.

ABTech will be hosting industry representatives for gage demonstrations and training on-site as well as exhibiting at industry trade shows and conferences. The next scheduled event is SPIE's OptiFab 2011, May 10-12th in Rochester New York. For more information please contact Matt Keenan, ABTech's Sales and Marketing Manager at 603-358-6431 or email: info@abtechmfg.com.

ABTech Inc is a privately held engineering and manufacturing company located in Swanzey, New Hampshire. Specializing in accuracy levels measured in millionths of an inch (µ"), fractions of a micron and arc seconds (1/3600th of a degree), this technology is applied to manufacture of air and oil hydrostatic bearings and high precision mechanical bearings. ABTech air-bearing technologies are used around the world in prominent research facilities, universities and advanced manufacturing operations for highly accurate complex geometric measurements; aerospace fabrication; precision grinding; semi-conductor wafer scanning and optical lens inspection and alignment.
