Sophisticated, Multi-Faceted In-Cab Forklift Scale Instruments Deliver Comprehensive Weight Data Efficiently with High Visibility and Simple Operation

Fairmont, MN-September 29, 2008-Avery Weigh-Tronix, LLC announces the FLI 425 and FLI 225 in-cab instruments, two powerful, convenient data management solutions for en route forklift scale systems. The FLI 425 instrument, designed exclusively for forklift scales, features a 7" TFT color LCD display for exceptional visibility and can display up to 19 data fields simultaneously-each of which can be easily accessed via the touchscreen. For simpler weighing needs, the compactly sized FLI 225 provides a Fast View(TM) LCD display with 3/4" digits for efficient weight data readability, and it displays multiple lines of additional data-delivering crisp visibility in bright conditions and backlit for dim areas.

The FLI 425's touch activation demonstrates exceptional reliability in a wide range of field environments, and the instrument offers simple operation by displaying on-demand diagnostics and status updates, as well as storing records and metrological details. To expedite operator training, it has with four hard keys for the most common tasks: Power, F1 (for special applications), Store and Zero. The robust FLI 425 also effortlessly integrates into existing Information System infrastructures, since it runs on a Microsoft® Windows® CE .NET operating system platform. Plus, the FLI 425 transmits stored data via serial ports USB or Ethernet, and features a foam rubber surround to help prevent head injuries upon accidental contact. It additionally provides calibration validation and a Diagnostics Manager for sophisticated data management, and it is expandable into a data terminal device for cross docking.

The FLI 225 offers a space-saving design to consume minimal cab space while delivering exceptionally readability well beyond the forklift driver's seat. It features nine hard keys-with a touchpad display image accessible for alphanumeric entries when needed-and provides dual serial ports for data transmission and peripheral connections.

Both the FLI 425 and FLI 225 are available with an optional instrument-mounted barcode scanner to expedite product data input. Plus, the in-cab instruments offer optional Wi-Fi capability (802.11g/b) to facilitate real-time communications for improved efficiency. Adding the Wi-Fi transmitter option removes the step of manually downloading data via a wired connection, and if the wireless link is lost, the instrument will save all data until the link is re-established. Data can be used locally and/or transferred via WAN to a central server or data center, allowing it be simply accessed by account or inventory management personnel globally.

"The multi-faceted FLI 425 and straightforward FLI 225 instruments make data transmission and storage easier than ever-delivering diagnostics and weight information efficiently and powered simply by the attached forklift scale's electrical system," said Don Halbert, Global Product Manager, Forklift Scales at Avery Weigh-Tronix. "Plus, our new wireless instrument option provides real-time data updates for validation of inbound/outbound goods and stock management."
