August 17, 2005 - Water-based, synthetic ferrous forging lubricant, Grade FW-3857, provides lubricious coating on dies that are normally in 170–500°F range. It dilutes with water, with ratios dependent upon severity of job. Lubricant does not produce fumes or gases associated with other synthetic or non-synthetic lubricants. Best results are obtained when Grade FW-3857 is sprayed by conventional methods.

Superior Performing Synthetic Forging Lubricant

Dylon Industries Inc. has developed Grade FW-3857 a heavy-duty, low temperature, synthetic ferrous forging lubricant. Grade FW-3857 is a water-based, forging lubricant that is a technical breakthrough developed after extensive research. Grade FW-3857 outperforms all other synthetics, as well as graphite-based lubricant systems.

The chemistry involved with FW-3857 is completely different from previous synthetic ferrous lubricants. It is specially formulated to provide a highly lubricious coating on dies that are normally in the 170° to 500°F (76° to 260°C) range.

Grade FW-3857 contains proprietary organic components, binders, and extreme pressure additives. All these materials combine to yield an exceptionally efficient ferrous forging lubricant. This advanced chemical technology is a result of years of Dylon high temperature surface science.

Dylon Grade FW-3857 offers many benefits not found in other synthetics. These include better definition of fine details, increased die life, superior fill, all without the usual fumes or gasses associated with other synthetics or non-synthetic lubricants.

Dylon Grade FW-3857 is designed to dilute easily with water, even hard water. Dilution ratios depend on the severity of the job, but are usually 6:1 (six parts water to one part concentrate) or greater. Grade FW-3857 can be spray applied to dies. Best results an; obtained when the diluted Grade FW-3857 is sprayed by conventional methods. Spraying is highly recommended because it produces the most uniform coatings and better control of metal movement.
