Enhanced Features for Macintosh and Windows; New Server Release Supports LDAP Functions
WOBURN, Mass., & BAD HOMBURG, Germany - Monotype Imaging Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: TYPE), a leading global provider of text imaging solutions, and its subsidiary, Linotype GmbH, have released new versions of their award-winning FontExplorer® X font management solution. FontExplorer X Pro 3.1 for Macintosh® and 2.3 for Windows® systems, in addition to FontExplorer X Server 1.6, are available immediately from www.fontexplorerx.com.
FontExplorer X Server now features LDAP (lightweight directory access protocol) functions, which support multiple domains, nested groups and the ability to monitor active or open directory groups for user changes. Version 1.6 also enables network administrators to disconnect users from the server and prevent server updates. Both server and client machines require updates to the latest versions of FontExplorer X in order to take advantage of the new server functions.
Among several new features, FontXplorer X Pro 3.1 for client machines introduces support for Mac OS® X 10.7 (Lion) and also debuts with support for a full-screen mode. The latest Mac® version also introduces a plug-in for Adobe® InCopy® CS5.5, and new Mac plug-ins are available for InDesign® ,and llustrator® and Photoshop® applications. FontExplorer X Pro 2.3 for Windows also includes plug-ins for these applications, in addition to enhancements to the user interface.

Available for Macintosh and Windows computers, FontExplorer X products may be downloaded and purchased from www.fontexplorerx.com, where users can also upgrade to new editions from earlier versions. Customers who have licensed FontExplorer X Pro after Jan. 1, 2011, may receive a free update. Customers of 2.x releases with a valid serial number may purchase an upgrade to FontExplorer Pro 3.1 (Macintosh) for $29 U.S. or Euros29 (including VAT) or £22 (excluding VAT).
A 30-day free trial version of FontExplorer X Pro is available to download for new customers. Pricing for new customers is $79 U.S. or Euros79 (including VAT) or ₤59 (excluding VAT) for a single user license.
FontExplorer X Server licenses are available online in packages of 10, 15, 20 or 25 user licenses, starting at $1,599 U.S. or Euros1,1999 (plus VAT) or ₤999 (excluding VAT). Larger packages of user licenses may be obtained by contacting Monotype Imaging or Linotype.
