Honeywell Launches New Genesolv® S Series Line of Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Flushing Agents

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, N.J., January 26, 2004.Honeywell announced today the launch of its new line of flushing agents for the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration industry. The Genesolv® S Series, complete with Genesolv® SF and Genesolv® ST products, is the latest line based on Honeywell's HFC-245fa molecule.

"The Genesolv S Series is the perfect replacement for HCFC-141b based flushing agents," states Guillermo Hitters, Industry Manager for Solvents. "Our new product line exhibits better drying times than comparable products in the marketplace. It also is safe, non-toxic and non-flammable, and has a chemistry that makes it fully compatible with HFC-134a and R-410a.

The launch of Genesolv® S Series comes on the heels of two years of intense product and delivery method development.

"We began developing this application in 2001 and, to date, we have run extensive trials both at our in-house laboratories as well as with future end-users with quite positive results," added Raymond H. Thomas, Technical Program Leader for the commercialization of the Genesolv S Series.

"We also were involved in the development of equipment that could be used with Genesolv S to enable a thorough and effective cleaning process."

Honeywell launched its new series of flushing agents at the recent Mobile Air Conditioning Society Trade Show in Orlando, FL, as well as during the ASHRAE Conference in Anaheim, CA.

Honeywell's Genesolv S Series serves as a replacement for the former Genesolv® 2000 Series of solvents, which are based on HCFC-141b. Production of HCFC-141b in the U.S. was phased out at the end of 2002 due to EPA regulations. Applications for the Genesolv S Series include air conditioning and refrigeration system flushing, electronics cleaning, general aerosol solvents, and a variety of other uses for specialty solvent.
