PEM® Flush-Head Studs with X-Press(TM) Threads Mate Quickly with Plastic Nuts and Clips

New PEM® self-clinching flush-head studs feature X-Press(TM) threads to enable quick mating of plastic nuts and clips without tools. Their use can reduce assembly time, promote secure and reliable attachment, and allow for easy removal and re-installation of mating hardware as necessary. These studs are RoHS compliant.

The PEM brand steel studs (Type FHX) mount flush and permanently in steel or aluminum sheets as thin as .040"/1mm and greater. They can be installed using a standard press or during the stamping process using PEMSERTER® in-die automated technology. Their thread design accepts paint, coatings, and under-sealants without compromising performance.

Mating components install quickly by sliding them down the threads of the stud until tight. The plastic nuts or clips can be removed simply by unscrewing like any other threaded hardware and then can be re-installed. They can contribute to lighter assemblies and can protect the integrity of soft materials (such as foam, cloth, or insulation) since there is no over-tightening that may tear or otherwise cause damage.

These new PEM brand flush-head clinch studs are available in thread sizes 5 x 1.6 and in lengths from .394"/10mm through .689"/17.5mm.
