Explosion Proof Ultraviolet Fluorescent Light Released by Larson Electronics

Larson Electronics, a leader in the manufacture and sale of industrial grade lighting, has announced the release of an explosion proof fluorescent light fixture designed to provide ultraviolet light output for specialty operations such as germicidal control and paint and adhesive curing. The EPL-48-2L-UV Explosion Proof Ultraviolet Fluorescent Light carries explosion proof and paint spray booth approvals and offers high output UV light that is ideal for speeding the cure times of UV reactive coatings and materials.

The Larson Electronics EPL-48-2L-UV explosion proof ultraviolet fluorescent light offers high output in the ultraviolet end of the light spectrum combined with explosion proof approval and paint spray booth certification.  This fixture is well suited to paint and adhesive curing operations as well as suppression of microbes as a germicidal control in the food and health industries. Measuring four feet long and weighing 65 lbs, this fluorescent fixture features aluminum construction, external sealed ballast, and heat and impact resistant Pyrex tubes to protect the fluorescent bulbs. These lights are designed to produce ultraviolet light, commonly known as “black light”, and are available in a variety of wavelength depending upon the operators needs.  Available output wavelengths for this light include Ultraviolet A 400nm - 315nm, Ultraviolet B 315nm - 280nm, and Ultraviolet C 280nm - 100nm which is commonly referred to as the germicidal range. These explosion proof lights are approved for Class 1 Division 1, Class 1 Division2, and Class 2 Division 1 and 2 locations as well as paint spray booth certified. This paint booth approval combined with the ultraviolet output of the UV lamps makes this an ideal fixture for operations where UV light is used within the booth to speed the curing of UV reactive paints, adhesives, and coatings. These fixtures are also approved for outdoor marine environments, making them suitable for use dockside and within marinas and shipyards where vessel servicing often involves the application of adhesives and coatings. Operators can choose from different mounting options including standard adjustable end brackets and optional pendant mounts to allow better clearance between the fixture and the mounting surface. These explosion proof lights operate with standard 12-277 VAC current, allowing them to operate with most common voltages encountered within industrial and commercial settings without the need for transformers.

“The EPL-48-2L-UV explosion proof ultraviolet light enables operators to use black light in a hazardous area for testing, pest control and other applications,” said Rob Bresnahan with LarsonElectronics.com.  “We offer this explosion proof light in the A, B or C band to meet the needs of a wide variety of manufacturing applications.”

Larson Electronics produces a full range of explosion proof and hazardous location lighting equipment, fluorescent work lights, portable LED lights, HID light towers, and LED boat lights.
