New Sylvania Pentron Constant Fluorescent Lamps Allow Users To Declare Independence From Temperature Concerns

New York, N.Y. (April 12-14, 2005) - SYLVANIA introduces a new age in fluorescent lighting, one where temperature is no longer a major concern related to T5 HO lamp performance. The SYLVANIA PENTRON® CONSTANT T5 HO lamp uses amalgam technology, which allows the lamp to be used over a wide temperature range, and provides 90% of its rated light output from as low as 5° C (40° F) to as high as 75° C (165° F).

The PENTRON CONSTANT lamp is an ideal replacement for T5 HO lamps commonly found in many lighting fixtures. For extreme temperature applications, hot or cold, this lamp is the best T5 HO lamp choice to achieve the highest possible light output. The advanced amalgam technology incorporated into this lamp and its design has also lead to improvements in run-up time compared to standard T5 HO fluorescent lamps. Typical T5 HO lamps take about two minutes to reach full brightness, and the PENTRON CONSTANT lamps can reduce this run-up time by up to 50%.

"Thanks to the lamp's ability to maintain a constant light output over a wide temperature range, a fixture using the PENTRON CONSTANT lamps can easily replace a metal halide lamp and fixture, resulting in substantial energy savings and without a decrease in lamp performance," said Rich Hanlon, marketing manager for linear fluorescent at OSRAM SYLVANIA.

The PENTRON CONSTANT fluorescent lamps are best suited for warehouse and industrial lighting, indirect office applications, outdoor signage, parking structures, and lighting in gas station canopies.
