March 2, 2006 - Offering retrofittable design for Newtonian and non-Newtonian applications, HI-FLUX Mixing Technology(TM) System optimizes mass transfer in high-viscosity shear thinning, fermentation gas-liquid systems. It utilizes up-pumping, axial flow mixing impellers inside internally baffled draft tube, vertically mounted inside mixing vessel. Intensive mixing is created within draft tube, and high rates of fluid circulation are produced throughout mixing vessel or reactor.

HI-FLUX Mixing Technology Produces Dramatic Results in Challenging Applications

(January 31, 2006) - HI-FLUX Mixing Technology(TM), a robust fluid processing system developed by Mixing & Mass Transfer Technologies (m2t) to improve mass transfer in high viscosity shear thinning, fermentation gas-liquid systems, has now been demonstrated to be a broad-based solution for even the most demanding fluid processing applications found in the chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food and minerals processing industries.

The technology utilizes a patented system design with up-pumping, axial flow mixing impellers inside an internally baffled draft tube, vertically mounted inside a mixing vessel. Intensive mixing is created within the draft tube, and very high rates of fluid circulation are produced throughout the mixing vessel or reactor.

"HI-FLUX Mixing & Reactor Technology presents a cost effective and retrofittable system design for both Newtonian and non-Newtonian shear thinning fluid applications", said Dr. Prakash Balan, VP - Research & Technology for m2t technologies. "The well defined flow-field coupled with the high intensity of turbulent mixing within the draft tube, make this design highly attractive to companies with multiphase applications that currently have undesirable limitations in mass transfer, mixing, or heat transfer."

"HI-FLUX technology is a great choice to sharply improve process productivity and efficiency where conventional mixing systems have failed to deliver", Dr. Balan added.
