Syrris Launches New Flow Chemistry Systems

The future of flow chemistry - Asia to debut at US and EU shows

Royston, UK - Leading chemistry automation product innovator, Syrris will launch its new Asia range of modular flow chemistry systems in America at Scientific Update OPRD, Florida from 28th February - 2nd March 2011. The European launch will subsequently occur at the 1st International Conference of the Flow Chemistry Society in Munich, Germany, from 28 - 29 March 2011. As the highest performance, most flexible and easiest to use system to date, the Asia portfolio is scalable and modular, making it ideal for any flow chemistry requirements.

Maxime Drobot, Asia Product Manager, will be presenting at the Scientific Update ORPD short course, 'Are you going with the flow' on the 1st March. This course will act as an introduction to flow chemistry with examples of various reactions that have been run under continuous flow conditions.

The new Asia systems incorporate maximum chemical resistance with wide temperature (-15 to 250 °C) and pressure (0-20 bar) ranges. With fast reaction times and microgram to kilogram scalability, its unique design enables manual or automated operation with optional PC control. The Asia range consists of three different series, each with three pre-configured systems providing varying levels of functionality. The Asia 1-series are a manually operated, cost-effective choice. The Asia 2-series systems can automatically perform one experiment at a time, with automated parameters such as reaction temperature, pressure and collection timings. Fully-automated for process optimization, the Asia 3-series is ideal for performing synthesis, work-up and analysis of hundreds of experiments.

For further information on the complete range of Asia systems, please visit Syrris at the Scientific Update ORPD in Florida or the International Conference of the Flow Chemistry Society in Germany. Syrris Limited

Established in 2001, Syrris Limited is one of the fastest growing science SMEs in the UK employing over 30 scientists and engineers at its facility in Royston (near Cambridge). With offices in the US, Japan, India and Brazil plus over 30 distributors worldwide, Syrris is world renown for excellence in chemical reactor systems.

Syrris develops laboratory automation products for chemists such as the Atlas automated chemistry systems. Atlas can be configured into a wide range of different systems for controlling round bottom flasks (magnetically and overhead stirred respectively) and jacketed reactors. Atlas systems are designed for applications including reaction calorimetry, volumetric dosing, gravimetric dosing, pH, etc.

Syrris also specialise in flow reactors for R&D chemists, including Asia and Africa , modular systems for chemical synthesis, aqueous work-up and reaction optimization. These systems offer faster, cleaner and safer reactions that will ultimately reduce the time taken to develop, synthesize, and review a chemical entity.

In recognition of its technological achievements, Syrris has been awarded a prestigious UK DTI SMART Exceptional Grant and was awarded the "Eastern Region's UKTI Best Established Exporter" and the "Most Outstanding Export Achievement" at the Global Opportunity Conference on International Trade. Syrris has also won a significant DTi MNT (Micro and Nano Technology) award which has been used to establish a subsidiary called The Dolomite Centre Ltd. This company is focused on design and fabrication of Microfluidic devices for a wide range of applications.
