PEM® Floating Panel Nuts Position and Spin Freely for Assembly Benefits

PEM® floating panel nuts custom-designed for specific applications can position and spin freely upon installation into any type of rigid material. Their ability to float in an assembly enables fast location of mating hardware and their spin capability promotes quick thread engagement. The all-metal threaded nuts permanently captivate in all types of panels.

Users can specify a wide range of fastener parameters to meet application needs, including nut head style (whether for hand or tool operation), unified or metric threads and thread sizes, and relevant dimensions to conform to the material thickness of host sheet or panel.

PEM floating panel nut assemblies (Type FPN) consist of nut and retention ring. Their installation is achieved by placing the nut through a sheet and the ring onto the nut shoulder. The nut then is flared onto the ring, which completes installation and allows the entire assembly to spin and float freely.

Installation can be accomplished automatically, manually, or utilizing in-die operations.
