Original Press Release:

LUTZE TPE Tray Cable - the Premium has Arrived

Charlotte, NC – LUTZE Inc. offers innovative, market driven products for factory automation and continuously strives to improve its product offering. LUTZE’s brand new premium tray cable combines superior flexibility, broad substance resistance and application versatility. This new cable design is permitted to be installed in cable trays and on industrial machinery thanks to the UL Type TC-ER and MTW listings while providing the feel and flexibility similar to portable cord.

This LUTZE premium TPE cable can be used in many industrial applications such as metal cutting, wood working, material handling, packaging and bottling equipment in industrial manufacturing facilities and is fully compliant with NFPA79 requirements.

Its superior versatility originates from the resistance to many organic and inorganic materials such as mineral & plant based cutting oils and greases, kerosene, citric acid, paraffin, sea water, hydrogen peroxide solution 3%, and potash, to name a few.  It is also sunlight and UV resistant as well as suitable for use in dry, damp and wet environments. Other features include crush impact resistance according to UL 1277 and no need for conduit due to TC-ER listing as per NEC 336.10-7. BUS Drop rating per UL 509 is included for all applicable cable constructions (4 and 5 cond. including ground). The product has been tested successfully in accordance to Oil Res I and Oil Res II standards.

Additionally, we duplicated both oil resistance tests submersing the cable in hot, plant based cutting oil as this type of oil is known to degrade PVC. The LUTZE premium TPE material passed the test with much better results than required by the standards. Therefore, this material provides an excellent choice for the metal cutting industry. LUTZE premium TPE tray cable has been adopted and specified by our automotive partners, particularly by the powertrain manufacturers and Tier I, Tier II OEMs.
