Cygnal's Tiny Flash Microcontroller Delivers 25MIPS for $0.99


April 28, 2003 - AUSTIN, TX - Cygnal Integrated Products, Inc. today announced the C8051F305, a full-featured flash microcontroller priced at $0.99 (suggested resale price in 10,000 piece quantities). The C8051F305 is targeted at a broad array of consumer applications, ranging from print toner cartridges to radio controlled toy cars. The unique features of the C8051F305 include:

25MIPS 8051 CPU
2K bytes Flash
256 bytes RAM
UART, SMBus®
Analog Comparator
3mm x 3mm Micro Lead-Frame Package (MLP)

As with other Cygnal MCU products, the C8051F305 includes on-chip debug circuitry facilitating full-speed in-system debug features such as single-stepping, breakpoints, and modifying registers and memory. The C8051F300DK Development kit sells for $99 with features typical of in-circuit emulators costing much more.
