George Fischer Introduces SYGEF® Gasket Featuring Improved Seal for Both Standard Purity and High Purity Applications

TUSTIN, Calif. - May 25, 2004 - George Fischer's new SYGEF® Gasket, introduced to support George Fischer's SYGEF® PVDF (polyvinylidene) Piping System, provides an improved flange seal for both standard and high purity applications. Manufactured to ANSI specifications with EPDM rubber and a TFM (modified PTFE) covering exposed to the fluid stream, the new gasket features excellent compressibility (low torque), simple installation, and chemical resistance.*

The SYGEF Gasket is offered in both Standard Purity and High Purity versions in sizes from 25 mm (¾") through 250 mm (10"). The Standard Purity version, which is single-bagged in a clean environment and lot inspected, is suitable for a wide variety of chemical applications. The High Purity version, which is cleaned, 100 percent inspected and double-bagged in a Class 1,000 cleanroom, is ideally suited for both ambient and hot UPW applications.

Incorporating an innovative self-centering design, the unit fits on the outer surface of the SYGEF flange adapter allowing perfect alignment of the gasket and creating a tight, leak-free seal. Its excellent memory properties allow multiple installations, which is not possible with expanded PTFE gaskets. When combined with George Fischer's V-Flange Ring, the user has a complete flange system for PVDF Piping Systems.
