September 13, 2004 - Suited for serial production environments, Megalu provides complete fixture made of aluminum profiles as well as service involved in planning, project management, designing, manufacturing, assembling, and measuring. Right-angled profiles, manufactured in extruded aluminum, weigh 10.5 lb per meter. Machining time is minimized because outer surfaces do not need to be treated. Hole, running length of all profiles, allows connection of up to 3 ft 10 in. lengths.

Megalu - New Way to Build Fixtures
Witte L.P., specializes in workholding fixtures, introduces new type of fixture at the IMTS in Chicago.
Right-angled profiles manufactured in extruded aluminum. Weight per meter is only 4,8 kg (approx. 10.5 lbs.) making it 50% lighter than comparable profiles.
Machining time is kept to a minimum as outer surfaces do not need to be treated in any way. A hole running the length of all profiles allows simple connection of up to 3 meter (approx. 3’ 10’’) lengths.
Megalu is not a single profile itself but it describes a complete fixture made of aluminum profiles and the service involved in planning, project management designing, manufacturing, assembling and measuring.
Faster fixture building together with price advantage achieved due to reduction of machining time concerning fixture components makes this product line especially interesting for quality departments in serial production environments. There are only rarely changes made to workpieces in production phase so that measuring fixtures only need to cater for small adjustment possibilities if at all.
Megalu was specially developed for dedicated fixtures, it is fast, easy, practical and economical. It is designed for rigid supports in quality control, which allow repeatable workpiece fixation which do not require additional configurations.
