Tyco Fire Suppression & Building Products Introduces 2-Inch Model RSV-1 Residential Shut-Off Valve

LANSDALE, PA - Tyco Fire Suppression & Building Products, a world leader in water-based fire suppression technology and manufacturer of the RAPID RESPONSE Home Fire Sprinkler System line of residential products, introduces the 2-Inch Model RSV-1 Residential Shut-Off Valve.

The Model RSV-1 Valve is designed for use in dual-purpose residential water supply systems. After sprinkler operation, the Model RSV-1 Valve automatically shuts off water flow to the domestic system and diverts it to the sprinkler system. The primary benefit of utilizing the Residential Shut-Off Valve is to maximize effective use of an existing water supply, eliminating the need to add costly pumps, pressurized reservoirs, or electrically operated domestic shut-off valves. Another benefit of installing the Model RSV-1 Valve is the ability to design a dual-purpose system without adding the domestic flow demand to the fire sprinkler system flow demand, which is required by NFPA 13R.

This valve features a built-in check valve that eliminates the need for a separate check valve on the fire sprinkler system. The Model RSV-1 Valve also automatically resets, thereby eliminating the need for valve disassembly after a fire sprinkler system test or activation.

NSF-61 Annex G Approved and UL and C-UL Listed, the 2-Inch Model RSV-1 Valve is suitable for use in residential fire sprinkler systems designed per NFPA 13D or 13R. A 1-inch version, with the same approvals, is also available and suitable for use in residential fire sprinkler systems.
