It contains flames and limits heat transmission between building floors for periods up to 2 hr. UL listing covers installation in monolithic and composite 2 hr floor/ceiling assemblies. Door cover can accept any flooring material.

Bilco's Type FR Fire-Rated Floor Door Now Offers Improved, UL Listed Self-Closing Mechanism
WEST HAVEN, CT/October 4, 2002 --The Bilco Company's Type FR fire-rated floor door has been redesigned with a new, UL Listed self-closing mechanism. This new closing mechanism offers a simplified design that requires less maintenance and takes up less area within the door's clear opening. As an added benefit, the door, already approved with the UL Mark, can now be offered less expensively to the customer with the self-closing option.
Available in single-leaf, aluminum construction, Type FR doors provide convenient access between building floors while maintaining the fire rating of the floor-ceiling assembly. Tested and approved at UL laboratories in accordance with NFPA 251 (ASTM E119) and NFPA 80, this unique door contains flames and limits heat transmission between building floors for a period of two hours. The UL listing covers installation in both monolithic and composite two hour floor/ceiling assemblies. Copies of UL test reports for the Fire Rated Floor Door can be easily obtained by contacting The Bilco Company. As an added benefit, the Type FR's cover is designed to accept the flooring material of your choice, including terrazzo, textured concrete, ceramic tile, etc., making it virtually undetectable.
