Siemens Fire Safety Offers Device Program Unit for Testing of Fire Detectors
Siemens Fire Safety, Florham Park, NJ has introduced a DPU (Device Program Unit) for diagnostic testing of fire detectors. The DPU is a versatile test unit for programming MXL and XLS devices and testing XLS circuits. It also may be employed as an XLS loop circuit driver. It is small, lightweight, operates on rechargeable NiMh or Alkaline batteries, has an optional label printer, uses FLASH memory for future feature upgrades and a large backlit screen.
The DPU performs its program and test functions in approximately half the time of conventional diagnostic tools. It has a DLC built into its circuitry and can power an XLS loop for viewing addresses and devices on the screen.
The new unit has a DB-3S base adapter for testing and programming ILI and ILP series detectors. There is an optional carrying case with storage capacity for all accessories with space provided for storage of extra batteries. An optional label printer is available with a carrying case for the printer, accessories and extra supplies.
