Easy-to-Identify Fire Alarm Outlet Boxes Help Contractors Meet NEC Requirements

ROSEMONT, IL, - The NEC® (National Electrical Code) requires that all fire alarm circuits be identified at terminal and junction locations in a manner that will prevent unintentional interference with the signaling circuit during testing and servicing. New steel Fire and Safety Boxes, Extension Rings and Covers from ETP help contractors meet these installation requirements.

New ETP Fire and Safety Boxes are protected by a red epoxy-powder coating that eliminates the need to paint at the warehouse or jobsite. The boxes are available in 4-inch and 4-11/16-inch square, 1-1/2-inch and 2-1/8-inch deep welded or drawn construction. All are available with a raised boss that allows for a 3/8-inch ground screw to be threaded into the box without contacting the mounting surface. Standard flat ground tapped holes are also available.

ETP Fire and Safety boxes are available through Appleton, a brand of Emerson Industrial Automation. For more details, call 800-621-1506 or visit www.appletonelec.com.
