New Commercial Air Filtration Technology from Lennox Industries
(DALLAS, TX-October 3, 2002)-- - Lennox Industries now offers a MERV 11 filter as a simple and cost effective way to improve the air quality in commercial buildings. This advanced filtration product utilizes the latest in pleated filter technology, including a 100% synthetic, gradient density, non-woven media that is totally hydrophobic and enclosed in a strong double-wall beverage board frame.
"Our customers' increasing concern over air quality in commercial buildings has prompted Lennox to investigate different types of advanced filtration media, " says John Whinery, director, commercial marketing. "The new MERV 11 Filter is very effective at filtering types of contaminants often found in these applications."
The filter has been independently tested and certified to MERV 11 (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) as specified by ASHRAE Standard 52. It is able to achieve an average dust spot efficiency of 60 – 65% and has a minimum average efficiency of 85% for particles 3.0 to 10.0 microns (mold and fungi), 69% for particles 1.0 - 3.0 microns (dust and pet dander) and 31% for particles 0.3 to 1.0 microns (bacteria). The filter is also UL Class 2 listed.
This product is available as a field installed option on the L Series® and 16 Series Lennox packaged rooftop units.
