MKS Releases New Filter Housing Line

BOULDER, COLORADO, November 6, 2002- MKS Instruments, Inc. - HPS Products is releasing a line of housings for use in process filtration applications. HPS® Filter Housings are designed for use in liquid or gas processes and are engineered to specific customer needs with a streamlined, contoured design for low hold-up and maximum product recovery. MKS has developed a draining model to decrease hold-up volume and a clean-in-place model for faster system maintenance. A line of HPS® Heater Jackets is available for processes that require temperature control. The installation cost is lower for HPS® Heated Filter Housings due to the direct power to the jacket. A control box for the heater jacket is not required, but is available as an option.

The silicone foam HPS® Heater Jackets are designed to improve heat distribution while complying with strict agency and corporate personnel safety standards. The heating elements are thermostatically controlled with redundant circuitry for over- and under-temperature conditions. Their molded shape conforms to the piping, minimizing gaps and subsequent heat loss. A patented manufacturing process results in external temperatures that are safe for human contact.

The HPS Filter Housings are fully certified and documented to the following standards and certifications:

• ASME BPE and 3A Specification Compliant

• ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section IX Compliant Automatic, Orbital, and Manual Welding for consistent high quality welds

• ASME Section VIII, Division I "U," "UM," and "R" stamps

• Finishes: 20 Ra interior and 32 exterior polish

• Gaskets: Code 7 and 8, Class VI and FDA/3A

• CE and UL for heater jackets

• ISO 9001 Certified

• Third Parry ASME BPE Pre-Inspection Available
