Filter Card provides DC offset compensation.

Press Release Summary:

AAF-2, 2 to 8 channel, tunable low-pass filter features selectable frequency ranges in Butterworth, Bessel, Cauer, or Linear Phase characteristics that eliminate noise and alias errors while providing DC and Gain accuracy for 16-bit data acquisition systems. Filter channels are fully isolated from PCI bus, and are continuously tunable from 0.1Hz to 200kHz. Input and output range is up to ±l0V while gain accuracy is ±0.00ldB@lkHz.

Original Press Release:

NEW TUNABLE NOISE ELIMINATION AND ANTI-ALIAS LOW-PASS FILTERS ABOARD HALF-SIZE PCI CARDS

COSTA MESA, CA (December 21, 2001) - Alligator Technologies, a leading supplier of data acquisition and sensor signal conditioning, today introduced its latest anti-aliasing low-pass filter card, the AAF-2. Packing superior filtering in a half-size PCI card, the AAF-2 is a 2 to 8-channel tunable low-pass filter with selectable frequency ranges in popular Butterworth, Bessel, Cauer or Linear Phase characteristics that eliminate noise and alias errors while providing DC and Gain accuracy
for 16-bit data acquisition systems. The filter channels are fully isolated from the PCI bus and continuously tunable in a range from 0.1Hz to 200kHz, making the AAF-2 ideal for filtering applications in sound and vibration testing, ultrasonics, acoustics, structural analysis, industrial, test, scientific and laboratory data collection and applied mechanical applications in electronics, aerospace, field research, automotive, and process control industries.

The AAF-2 is cost effectively packed with exceptional features designed to meet the complex and rigorous requirements of analog data collection. Its isolated design eliminates problems due to common mode noise to supply superior signal integrity over competitive products. The AAF-2 also incorporates a cutting-edge compensation circuit to eliminate filter-related DC offset effects due to drift and temperature. Providing rock solid DC offset compensation on the AAF-2 enables complete usage of the entire input voltage range therefore, maximizing the resolution of 16-bit A/D converters.

Available in 2, 4, 6, or 8 channels of Butterworth, Bessel, Cauer or Linear Phase filters or combination of these filters, the AAF-2 is tunable to a variety of bandwidths from 0.1Hz to 200kHz. Its output impedance is less than 0.001Ohms making it compatible to all popular PCI-based or stand-alone A/D converters. Common mode rejection is 90dB to 110 dB. The Input and output range is up to +/-l0Volts while gain accuracy is +/-0.00ldB@lkHz. Both gain and DC offsets are factory calibrated.
