November 30, 2001 - Laboratory Co-extrusion Cast Film system laminates thermoplastics onto non-standard substrates such as steel, composites, and advanced engineering materials. It uses large diameter rolls for minimal bending of substrates to reduce stress. Typical system has one 1 in. extruder, two 3/4 in. extruders, panel with computer communications, 16 in. cast film flat die with integral gantry boom, and cast film take-off with torque or speed control.

Co-extrusion Cast Film Laminating Systems

Wayne Machine has introduced a new line of Laboratory Coextrusion Cast Film Laminating Systems specifically to laminate thermoplastics onto non-standard substrates such as steel, composites and advanced engineering materials. The new laboratory systems feature larger diameter rolls for minimal bending of substrates to reduce undesirable stress. This reduction in unwanted stress brings benefits to the processor in terms of better mechanical properties of the laminated extrudate. The pictured system consists of (1) 1" extruder, (2) 3/4" extruders, control panel with discrete controls with computer communications, a five layer A-B-C-B-A feedblock, 16" cast film flat die with integral gantry boom, cast film take-off with torque or speed control system with matte finish roll and air-operated neoprene coated contact roll, adjustable rotary blade slitter with scoring roll and dual reel scrap takeup. All critical drives are high horsepower AC flux vector types with closed loop control which are required for non-standard substrates that require precision speed control and full horsepower at low speeds. A wide variety of options including melt pumps, static mixers, mixing screws and elastomer capable extruders are available
