New release gives network administrators more control over transfer bandwidth
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., -- VanDyke Software today announced the official release of SecureFX 6.6, a flexible, secure file transfer application for Windows®. SecureFX offers advanced features like site synchronization and automation to help web designers and network administrators streamline everyday tasks.
The latest release of SecureFX now allows you to "throttle" file transfers, controlling the amount of bandwidth used, so that transfers can run without consuming all available network capacity. Also new is a parallel transfer option that sets the number of parallel transfers allowed -- as transfers are completed, remaining files are slotted into the sequence.
"Our customers are always looking for ways to better manage the network resources used during large file transfers and increase transfer speed," said Maureen Jett, product director for SecureFX at VanDyke Software. "These new bandwidth control and parallel transfer capabilities were aimed at further improving performance in these areas."
SecureFX 6.6 also introduces a single-click download to the local current working directory (CWD), auto retry on failed connection, and support for RFC 2228 Clear Command Channel (CCC) which enhances compatibility with SSL servers.
