CSI Now Shipping New Fiberlink® 3G/HD/SD-SDI with 10/100 Ethernet and 2 Channels of RS-Type Data Fiber Optic Transmission System!

Hauppauge, New York - Today, Communications Specialties, Inc. (CSI) announced the immediate availability of the Fiberlink® 3370 Series of 3G/HD/SD-SDI with 10/100 Ethernet and RS-Type Data family of products. The 3370 Series has a unique characteristic that allows Ethernet and 2 channels of bi-directional RS-Type data along with SMPTE compliant 3G/HD/SD-SDI to be transmitted over one single mode fiber or two multimode fibers.

"The ability to distribute 1080p 3G-SDI with both Ethernet and RS-Type control data over a single fiber offers the broadcast engineer significant time and financial savings," says Paul Seiden, Director of Sales. "Remote broadcast vehicles such as OB trucks, can now maximize their limited number of fibers and reduce the timely set-up of multiple devices by taking control and command of their remote cameras utilizing only one product and one or two fibers. Of course, these benefits apply to broadcast and studio facilities as well."

The series transmits 3G, HD or SD-SDI as per SMPTE 424M-2006, 292 and 259 and is immune to pathological signals over the entire budget link and operating temperature range. Signals are equalized and re-clocked prior to fiber optic transmission and the receiver features a re-clocked SDI output.

All data channels are available simultaneously and convenient switches on the transmitter allow the operator to configure each of the two pairs of data independently. Data signals are not required to operate the link and it can be used as a stand-alone 3G/HD/SD-SDI optical link.

Previously embedded audio that is present in the SDI stream is left intact throughout the entire transmission process.

Available in both a card and a small footprint box version, the Fiberlink 3370 Series is ideal for broadcast or corporate studios, OB Vans, Point-of-View Cameras, surgical or medical imaging, auditoriums, stadiums and theaters, airport or transportation hubs, distance learning, and more!
