New Fiber-Optic Amplifiers from SICK

SICK (www.sickusa.com), one of the world's leading manufacturers of sensors, safety systems, machine vision, and automatic identification products for factory and logistics automation, announced the launch of its WLL170T-2 and WLL190T-2 Fiber-Optic Amplifiers. With more flexibility and programming options than previous sensors, these new amplifiers feature greater teach-in options, higher enclosure ratings and longer sensing ranges. In contrast to SICK's other sensors, amplifiers require fiber-optic cables to properly function. These amplifiers also offer higher production throughput due to the sensors' faster response times (and higher switching frequencies).

These next generation sensors include all of the features of SICK's existing line of fiber-optic products, but with even greater functionality. The new WLL190T-2 series offers a dual digital display and can be used in stand-alone mode or as part of a bus with up to 16 sensors connected together. The WLL170T-2 offers several teach-in options with either on-amplifier adjustment or via external teach wire. Plus, these amplifiers are ideal for a variety of part detection tasks in the electronics, pharmaceutical, assembly and handling, and robotics industries.
