Original Press Release:

Fiber Optic Amplifier with Dual Display and Advanced Settings

W. Des Moines, IA - Optex-FA has introduced the D2RF series dual digital display fiber amplifiers that are equipped with the latest functions and features to meet even the most demanding needs of today's sensing requirements.

The amplifier is designed with advanced user friendly programming format offering 6 teaching modes that are easily selected based on the requirements of the application. Some of those teaching modes are Auto Teach mode used for on the fly set-up when the equipment is operating. Another is Zone teaching mode which creates a selectable high - low window that can be used for sorting parts or used when detecting objects on a vibrating conveyor. The Glass teaching mode is designed for detection of transparent film, glass, Pet bottles, etc.

The two 4 digit displays allow for simple verification of the light received level and threshold level. The 2 digital displays also aid in setting up and programming the fiber amplifier.

The D2RF Fiber amplifier is equipped with a built in Up or Down counter mode making it convenient to count the amount of parts being extruded or packaged in a bag. The amplifier is also equipped with a fully selectable one shot, off delay, and on delay timers that can alleviate the need for making changes to PLC programming.

D2RF amplifiers are available in two output configurations: two independently settable digital or one digital and analog of 4-20mA. Digital outputs can be set to 60 µs response for high speed applications. One output can also be configured as an input for remote teaching or as a counter reset. The fully scalable analog output divides the analog signal over the selected received light levels ensuring maximum resolution for an application.
