February 6, 2009 - With degree of polarization at less than 0.1, Fiber-Coupled Laser Modules are suited for OEM pumping applications. Units are available up to 40 W at 808, 880, 915, 940, and 980 nm with numerical aperture of 0.22 from 400 µm core fibers. Measuring less than 100 x 31 x 20 mm, package provides wall plug efficiency greater than 35%. Modules typically operate at 55 A with compliance voltage of 1.8 V. Standard wavelength tolerances are ±3 nm with spectral widths less than 5 nm.

DILAS' Fiber-Coupled Diode Laser Bar Enables Unpolarized Output

Mainz, Germany, January 27, 2009 -DILAS, the diode laser company, announces today the launch of its high-power fiber-coupled module that enables "truly" unpolarized optical output beam.

Within the fiber-coupled module architecture, DILAS uses a polarization scrambler to achieve random polarization. With a degree of polarization at <0.1, this product is ideal for a wide array of OEM pumping applications, primarily diode-pumped solid-state laser manufactures demanding increased stability for their next generation products. Thus, manufacturers achieve desirable advantages by increasing their stability, therefore leading to robust and cost-effective system designs.

Standard modules are now available up to 40W at 808nm, 880nm, 915nm, 940nm and 980nm with a numerical aperture of 0.22 from 400µm core fibers, making it the most reliable and highest-performing fiber-coupled module available today.

Measuring less than 100x31x20mm (LxWxH), this industry-standard package boasts a wall plug efficiency (WPE) >35%. The modules typically operate at 55A of current with a compliance voltage of 1.8V. Standard wavelength tolerances are +/-3nm with spectral widths less than 5nm.
