New Pilot-to-Production Fermentor

New Brunswick Scientific's sterilizable-in-place 19.5 & 40 Liter BioFlo® 510 fermentor & CelliGen® 510 bioreactor are now available with Allen Bradley control system for those who prefer to use the flexibility and robustness of an industrial grade PLC platform for their machine control. The open skid is designed for the convenient operation and maintenance of this benchtop system. The modular design concept with a comprehensive list of standard options facilitates field-installed upgrades to keep pace with your requirements. The intuitive bioprocess software program is controlled through the large 15" easy-to-use touch screen that is easy to navigate while offering advanced control functions and the flexibility to meet changing process needs. Standard features include a built-in load cell for precisely measuring additions and harvesting; and 24 vessel penetrations for positioning sprayballs, sensors, and more, wherever convenient.

The new option for integration of Allen Bradley Control Logix Process Controller provides a variety of benefits such as complete machine control (recipes, valves, process loops) to optimize your process. In addition, the bioprocess software program is nearly identical to the program utilized by NBS' larger-scale BioFlo Pro and CelliGen Pro fermentors and bioreactors, facilitating process scale-up and protocol development from 19.5L to 3000L while eliminating the need to train operators on multiple control systems. The controller is ISA S88-compatible, meeting the standard for batch process control; has Ethernet or Modbus connectivity to an OPC-server for integrating the system into existing data networks. NBS can offer a supervisory control and data acquisition package (SCADA) which is compliant with the Federal government's 21 CFR Part 11 code governing electronic record keeping for validation requirements is also available.
