Ampro Introduces ReadySystem(TM) Fanless for Rugged Environments

Small form factor system enables embedded applications with high-end graphics and I/O

BOSTON, MA, September 18, 2007. - Ampro Computers, Inc., a leading supplier of standards-based computer systems, single board computers (SBCs), and computer-on-modules (COMs), introduced today at the Embedded Systems Conference the new ReadySystem(TM) Fanless computer based on the EPIC form factor ReadyBoard(TM) family of embedded SBCs. The new ReadySystem Fanless is an ideal solution for harsh environments that are dusty and dirty, or require high reliability or noise free operation. ReadySystem Fanless computers complement Ampro's existing ReadySystem industrial computers, offering support for Intel® processors up to 1.4 GHz, high performance graphics, and robust I/O including Gigabit Ethernet, Serial ATA (SATA) storage in certain models, and USB 2.0.

"With Ampro's new ReadySystem(TM) Fanless computer, we continue to offer system products that meet our customers demanding requirements," said Joanne Mumola Williams, president and CEO of Ampro. "Thanks to the mechanical design and the quality of Ampro SBCs used, our ReadySystem Fanless brings a level of reliability that allows our customers to deploy systems and applications into a wide range of environments."

ReadySystem Fanless features a choice of Ampro ReadyBoard SBC up to 1.4 GHz Pentium® M processor and all electronics in a compact housing, only 236 x 261 x 85mm (9.3"x10.2"x3.35"). It includes a robust set of I/O with a VGA DB15 output, (2) USB2.0 ports, (2) RS-232 serial ports on DB9 connectors, audio (In, Out, and Mic.), PS/2 keyboard and mouse (shared), and up to two Ethernet interfaces. Optional additional serial and USB ports are available.

ReadySystem Fanless allows the integration of up to (2) PCI-104 or PC/104-Plus cards for extraordinary flexibility in tailoring the computing solution to specific I/O requirements. The system allows room for a 2.5 inch hard drive. A Serial ATA (SATA) drive is supported when the ReadyBoard 820 is installed.

The small dust and noise free system allows OEMs and system integrators to build high performance automation, digital signage, control, acquisition, and gaming applications with ReadySystem Fanless computers.

Ampro's ReadySystem Fanless computer products are offered with Windows® XP, Windows XP Embedded, Windows CE, and Linux® 2.6 operating systems to help customers, OEMs, and system integrators rapidly deploy Ampro products into their small form factor application environments.
