Special-Lite Introduces New Sandstone-Textured FRP with Exclusive Fine-Grained Surface
Special-Lite, Inc. has introduced a new fiberglass reinforced polyester (FRP) face sheet with a more aesthetically-pleasing, fine-grained texture for use on exterior flush doors. The exclusive new "sandstone texture" has a more subtle surface finish and less glossy appearance that makes it better suited to design-driven applications not expected to see deliberate abuse or vandalism.
The new texture has been designated as the standard face sheet for the firm's existing SL-20 FRP Door, where it replaces the smooth face sheets previously provided with that door model.
The new Sandstone-Textured FRP is available in four color-through face sheets - white, beige, light grey and dark bronze, and can also be painted any color. The "Sandstone" face sheets provide a durable finish for low maintenance and easy cleaning. The updated Special-Lite® SL-20 Sandstone-Textured FRP Flush Door features the same premium construction as the super-durable SL-17 FRP, and can be custom fabricated in sizes up to 4' by 8'.
Like the SL-17 and the original SL-20, the updated SL-20 Sandstone-Textured FRP door features a poured-in-place urethane core for superior thermal performance and internal hardware reinforcements for the exact hardware specified. It is corrosion resistant for humid or corrosive locations. All extrusions are 100% recycled pre-consumer aluminum content.
