FTIR System provides reaction analysis and monitoring.

Press Release Summary:

Designed to fit into laboratory fume hood, ReactIR(TM) 15 accepts only fourth generation DS series sampling technology - silver halide (AgX) FiberConduit(TM) probe technologies and DS Micro Flow Cell technology for monitoring continuous chemistry. Sealed design of interferometer eliminates purge tubing and purge gas requirement. iC IR(TM) real-time reaction analysis software package allows instantaneous view of reaction progression, dispersion characteristics, and side-reactions.

Original Press Release:

Improve Chemistry Understanding with Reaction Analysis

METTLER TOLEDO announced the release of the ReactIR(TM) 15 reaction analysis and reaction monitoring system. ReactIR(TM) 15 is a Fourier Transform Infrared Monitoring (FTIR) instrument that is ideally suited for general, in situ reaction analysis understanding. Progressive technology and software allow this ReactIR(TM) to be used effortlessly by any chemist, whether skilled in spectroscopy or not.

"The ReactIR(TM) 15 makes analyzing chemical reactions easier than ever", commented Henry Dubina, Head of METTLER TOLEDO AutoChem, "You plug the system in, insert the probe, and start monitoring the reaction. The combination of the ReactIR(TM) 15 and the simply powerful iCIR(TM) software allows the expert or novice to gain quality critical information about your chemistry as it reacts."

ReactIR(TM) 15 is an even more compact reaction analysis technology platform than its predecessor, ReactIR(TM) iC10. This reaction monitoring system fits neatly into a laboratory fume hood. The low weight (9kgs) of the ReactIR(TM) 15 makes it transportable to other labs or even other buildings where it is needed. ReactIR(TM) 15 accepts only the latest, fourth generation DS series sampling technology - silver halide (AgX) FiberConduit(TM) probe technologies and DS Micro Flow Cell technology for monitoring continuous chemistry. The sealed design of the interferometer eliminates the cumbersome purge tubing and potentially costly purge gas requirement. With the DS sampling technology, you simply plug-in your sampling technology and measure - no alignment or tools are required. Reaction measurements cannot be any less complicated than with the ReactIR(TM) 15. Gain significant insight and knowledge in real time with virtually no user input.

The established iC IR(TM) real time reaction analysis software package allows an instantaneous view of reaction progression, dispersion characteristics and side-reactions - with or without prior knowledge of the chemistry under development/production.
