Blueslice Unveils the Industry's First HLR/HSS-Based Fixed Mobile Convergence at 3GSM

BARCELONA, Spain, Feb. 12 // - 3GSM World Congress - The Blueslice HLR/HSS and its SIP-based Fixed Mobile Convergence solution will be unveiled on Monday, February 12, 2007 at Blueslice Networks' 3GSM World Congress exhibit. Attendees are invited to visit booth 1B59 in Hall 1 for the unveiling and to witness a demonstration first hand.

Fixed Mobile Convergence, or FMC, allows subscribers to roam between GSM/UMTS and IP networks, accessing the benefits of both networks. By bridging SS7 and SIP networks, a subscriber can have one number that follows him in the home, at the office, and on the move across multiple devices or with a dual-mode GSM/WiFi mobile terminal.

Instead of managing multiple subscriber profiles in multiple silos for different access networks, the Blueslice FMC solution anchors multiple identities in one profile in one location. It is a logical solution to the convergence challenge: an integrated subscriber profile significantly reduces network complexity and operational expenditures, allowing subscriber profiles to be provisioned in a single system and enabling new and enhanced call-termination routing opportunities.

The Blueslice 3000 Series Platform leverages its SIP Registrar, SIP Redirection Server, Authentication Center (AuC), AAA Server, and Domain Selection Function (DSF) entities integrated in the core ngHLR 3000(TM) and HSS 3000(TM) functionalities to enable SIP-based FMC. The Blueslice FMC solution integrates seamlessly in pre-IMS or IMS-compliant deployments and provides an intelligent routing decision point for incoming voice calls from either GSM or SIP destined to a multi-mode subscriber, while having minimal impact on the existing network.

"We expect to see 2007 as the year for mass-market convergence deployments," said Stephan Ouaknine, CEO of Blueslice Networks. "We feel Blueslice is well positioned to play a pivotal role in the deployment of new FMC services at the subscriber management level."
