MotorSolve IM includes fully automated finite element analysis (FEA) results module to solve critical performance parameters and provide key performance data for existing features. It runs automated FEA solver by handling pre and postprocessing steps for user after they select from list of performance indicators for data required. Program uses template-based interface for modeling induction motors or generators, allowing for rapid prototyping of different designs.

Infolytica to Release Updated MotorSolve for Induction Machines
New Results Module for Solving Performance Parameters
Montreal - March 17, 2009 - Infolytica Corporation announced today that a major update to MotorSolve IM will be available in April 2009. A new fully automated finite element analysis (FEA) results module will be included with the software which will solve critical performance parameters accurately.
MotorSolve IM uses a template-based interface for modeling induction motors or generators, allowing for rapid prototyping of different designs. The new results module will extend the existing features by providing key performance data.
"We refer to MotorSolve as an automated FEA design tool since the user doesn't have to worry about the mesh or any typical post-processing tasks associated with FEA software." said Chad Ghalamzan, Marketing Manager at Infolytica Corporation "They select from an extensive list of performance indicators - quantities, charts, field plots, etc - what data they require. MotorSolve runs the automated FEA solver by handling all these 'typical' pre and post processing steps for the user, and produces the desired results as required."
The MotorSolve software suite supports brushless dc (BLDC), induction machine (IM) and switched reluctance machine (SRM) devices.
Instantaneous stator and rotor current densities: 4 pole, 3 phase, 17 rotor bar and 24 slot squirrel cage machine operating at 1700 RPM synchronous speed with 3% slip.
Characteristics of an IM Machine: the results show the torque, efficiency, power factor, RMS current and voltages as a function of rotor slip.
