Magnalight.com Introduces 2 Foot Long Explosion Proof Fluorescent Light with Emergency Backup Operation

Larson Electronics' Magnalight introduced today the EPL-EMG-24-2L Explosion Proof Fluorescent Light with Emergency Backup to its comprehensive line of explosion proof lighting products. Designed to provide the functionality of an everyday use fixture as well as the security of an emergency service fixture, this Class 1 Division 1 approved unit will run for 90 minutes in the event of power failure. An integral battery backup is automatically recharged during normal operation and stores enough power to run one lamp for 90 minutes to provide 900 lumens of light.

The Class 1 Division 1 approved EPL-EMG-24-2L Explosion Proof Fluorescent Light with Emergency Backup from Magnalight provides all the functionality and safety of a general use explosion proof fluorescent fixture as well as the security of emergency backup operation. Designed to provide explosion proof compliance for Class 1 Division 1 and Class 1 Division 2 locations, this 2 foot long, two bulb, fluorescent light fixture, produces 2,650 lumens when operating in normal mode. In the event of power failure, this unit will automatically switch to emergency mode and power one lamp for 90 minutes to provide 900 lumens of light until power is restored and normal operation can resume. Once power is restored, the onboard Ni-Cad batteries are automatically recharged and kept in a ready state until needed again. This explosion proof fluorescent light is constructed of copper free aluminum, with corrosion resistant heavy gauge aluminum reflectors and heat and impact resistant Pyrex tube bulb guards for durability and safe operation. Available with pendant, surface, or bracket mounting, this explosion proof light fixture is small enough to mount in tight spaces yet produces enough light for detail and close work applications. This hazardous location light fixture is also paint spray booth approved, making it ideal for paint booths and locations where flammable chemical/petrochemical vapors exist or have the potential to exist. Magnalight also offers the option of including an additional battery backup in order to allow this unit to power two lamps while operating in emergency mode, thereby doubling emergency output to a total of 1800 lumens for 90 minutes.

"The EPL-EMG-24-2L with the security of emergency service is a cost effective addition to our explosion proof light product line," said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com. "Power outages happen without notice and this light can keep you up and functioning in critical areas giving you enough time to shut down operations in progress. The addition of the emergency ballast, means that operators can save money, space and installation costs, because we combine a standard explosion proof fluorescent light with an emergency light into a single fixture."

Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com carries an extensive line of explosion proof lights, hazardous location lights, intrinsically safe lights, LED hand lamps, and explosion proof tank lights.
