Larson Electronics' Magnalight .com Releases Explosion Proof Tool Tap Reel with Twist Lock Receptacle

Magnalight.com has announced today the release of an explosion proof cord reel that provides Class 1 Division 1 protection and the ability to easily manage 50 feet of included cord without tangling or creating tripping hazards. This explosion proof cord reel is ideal for operators in hazardous environment seeking an easy to use method of connecting lighting and tools without the annoying tangles and cord pileups common with typical extension cords. Constructed of aluminum and steel and including an explosion proof receptacle and plug, this unit provides a very durable solution to providing power over extended distances to hand tools and lighting in locations where explosion proof protection is mandatory.

Larson Electronics' Magnalight has announced the addition of the EPLRT-50-HR explosion proof tool tap reel to its line of explosion extension cords and plugs. Designed to provide a convenient way to prevent cord tangling and potential trip and fall hazards associated with standard explosion proof extension cords, this cord reel contains 50 feet of cord on a slip ring housing that can be easily extended or rewound as needed. A spring loaded ratchet and a 4 roller adjustable cable guide with ball stop provides easy winding and unwinding of the cord without damaging the cord or creating kinks and cord pileups. Included with this explosion proof cord reel is a Class 1 Division 1 explosion proof twist lock plug receptacle for connecting explosion proof equipment which provides a secure and pull resistant connection. This cord and reel assembly features steel and aluminum construction, 35 amps, 1-4 conductors-600 Volts or 5-12 conductors-250 Volts, a grey epoxy finish on steel parts, and 50 feet of 16AWG abrasion and chemical resistant SOOW cord. Built to demanding specifications, this explosion proof tap reel meets or exceeds compliance with UL 508 table 36.1 NEC Standards and NEMA 9 and NEMA 4 IP56 standards. The explosion proof receptacle included with this reel is a twist lock design constructed with copper free aluminum, and has deep recessed contacts for protection against accidental contact and sparking. This cord reel is suitable for installation within hazardous locations and requires a twist lock plug of matching design be used with the included receptacle in order to maintain compliance with hazardous location regulations.

"The EPLRT-50-HR takes the hassle out of connecting tools and equipment in hazardous location areas," said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com. "Operators have 50 feet of explosion proof extension cord that is extendable if needed; the cord reel has a 4 roller adjustable cable guide providing easy feeding and retracting of the cord."

Larson Electronics' Magnalight stocks an extensive inventory of explosion proof extension cords, cord reels, explosion proof receptacles and switches and hazardous location plugs. The full line of Larson Electronics' explosion proof equipment can be seen by visiting Magnalight.com. Magnalight can meet special order lighting requirements and can be contacted by calling 1-800-369-6671 or 1-214-616-6180 for international inquiries.
