Larson Electronics Announces Addition of High Output Explosion Proof LED Light Fixture

Larson Electronics has announced the addition of a hazardous location approved LED light fixture with upgraded LED lamps to its explosion proof lighting inventory. Producing over 5,000 lumens and featuring a marine rated and corrosion resistant design, the HAL-48-2L-LED-G2 Hazardous Location LED Light is ideal for offshore applications and industrial operations where hazardous location protection is required.

Larson Electronics’ HAL-48-2L-LED-G2 explosion proof LED light provides an ideal alternative to traditional fluorescent fixtures and features improved LED lamps and heavy duty corrosion resistant construction.  Designed for use in demanding environments and approved for Class 1 Division 2 locations, these lights feature copper free aluminum housings, aluminum reflectors with high gloss finish, shatter and heat resistant clear acrylic lens, and two second generation LED tube lamps. The second generation LED lamps in these units produce over 2700 lumens each, more than the previous LEDs and resulting in a total of over 5,000 lumens from 56 watts of power consumption.  These LED tubes produce 98 lumens per watt, have a 5600K color temperature, and carry a standard 50,000 hour operational life rating, nearly twice that of standard T8 fluorescent lamps.  The housings on these explosion proof fixtures are designed to resist corrosion and dampness and feature UL 595 Outdoor Marine Type and UL 1598A Marine approval, making them ideal for offshore use on oil platforms as well as marinas and shore side applications. These fixtures have no ballast, which makes them lighter in weight and reduces maintenance requirements.  Multiple mounting options are available including a standard surface mount which allows angle adjustment, and sliding brackets which allow operators to retrofit these units to existing mounting hole from previous fluorescent fixtures.  Power options include standard 120-277 volt capability, and 12-24 volt DC configurations for use with low voltages. The HAL-48-2L-LED-G2 is US and Canada UL approved Class 1 Division 2 Groups A, B, C, and D, and carries a T4A temperature rating as well as approval for use in marine environments.  These explosion proof LED lights are ideal for operators in hazardous locations who wish to upgrade to LEDs yet must also meet stringent requirements for resistance to corrosion and wetness, and provide improved performance over fluorescent lamps and older LED designs.

“This hazardous location area LED light offers nearly 3 times the illumination of our standard HAL-48-2L-LED model, saving the customers money on both the cost of installation and the fixtures themselves,” said Rob Bresnahan with LarsonElectronics.com.  “At 56 watts, we offer a very competitively priced, high output Class 1 Division 2 LED light for rig operators, manufacturing facilities and aerospace applications.  With a voltage range extending from 12/24 volts DC to 120/277VAC, we can meet engineering requirements for linear hazardous area lighting for nearly any project.”

Larson Electronics produces a full range of explosion proof and hazardous location lighting equipment, LED work lights, portable LED lights, LED light towers, and LED boat lights.
