Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com Announces Release of Explosion Proof Emergency Light with Back Up Emergency Battery

Magnalight by Larson Electronics announced today the release of the EXP-EMG-12W-2L a new explosion proof emergency light with battery backup that provides 90 minutes of light operation in the event of power failure or any incident which results in the interruption of current to the light. This Class 1 Division 1, Class 2 Division 1 & 2 approved emergency light contains two 6 watt LED lamps, a high temperature Nickel-Cadmium rechargeable battery, and is designed to provide up to 10 years of reliable low maintenance operation. This emergency light offers an ideal solution for hazardous locations requiring a dependable source of failsafe illumination.

The EXP-EMG-12W-2L explosion proof emergency light from Magnalight.com is designed with LED equipped lamps and a high temperature Nickel-Cadmium battery to provide a long lived lighting solution for areas requiring a light fixture that meets National Electrical Code and Life Safety Code emergency lighting requirements. Two 6 watt LED lamps in this unit provide high light output combined with low power draw to produce a highly reliable emergency light source that can operate for 90 minutes in the event of power failures. A high temperature Nickel-Cadmium battery rated at 7-10 years of operational life provides power for the lamps in the event of power failure and is recharged automatically during normal operation to maintain a full charge at all times. The EXP-EMG-12W-2L is an ideal solution for operators who wish to ensure their hazardous workspaces employ the most effective and reliable safety lighting options available. Under normal conditions this emergency lamp uses normal external power to illuminate its two 6 watt LED lamps. In the case of power outages or in any situation where power is interrupted, this unit automatically switches to a battery backup which will power the unit for 90 minutes or until power is restored. Once power is restored, a built in charger will return the unit to a fully charged state within acceptable UL time limits. Protection for the battery comes from integral solid state circuitry which senses a low voltage condition and turns off the unit before battery damage can occur from deep discharging. An integrated pilot light allows operators to easily verify the presence of AC current and a test switch provides simple confirmation of proper emergency operation. Constructed of copper free aluminum and finished in an epoxy powder coat for resistance to corrosion, the EXP-EMG-12W-2L can withstand temperature variances ranging from 0° to 40°C. The LED lamps in this unit are exceptionally long lived and highly resistant to damage from shocks, impacts and vibrations and are protected by impact resistant glass globe lenses. This unit is designed to operate with voltages ranging from 120V to 277V@ 50/60HZ to allow easy connection over a wide array of locations and power configurations. Operation of this light is fully automatic and very little maintenance is required to maintain optimum operating performance.

"This is a very competitively priced explosion proof emergency 'bug eyes' LED light," said Rob Bresnahan with Larson Electronics' magnalight.com. "With integrated Class 1 Division 1 and 2 and Class 2 Division 1 and 2 ratings, this emergency LED light with two LED lights and integrated nickel is ideally suited for any hazardous location environment."
