New Exhaust Clamp Compensates for Misalignment

WIXOM, MICH...APRIL 16, 2004... NORMA Products (U.S.), Inc. has introduced to North America a clamp for exhaust systems and other uses that compensates for misalignments and is guaranteed against leakage. The NORMACONNECT® SEC, or Swivel Exhaust Clamp, is available in many standard diameters from 50mm to 75mm, in 5mm increments.

NORMACONNECT® SEC clamps have been used in Europe for years, and have now been specified by a leading North American automaker for the exhaust system of a 2005 model. These innovative clamps compensate for misalignment of up to 8°, and are guaranteed not to leak more than two liters per minute when properly specified and installed.

The SEC's unique spherical design holds pipes reliably without slippage or damage, even under high axial loads. These clamps can withstand relatively high torsional and bending torque.

NORMACONNECT® SEC clamps are made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel. The screw (TORX® or hex available) and trunnions are made of carbon steel and are coated (without Chromium VI) for long life. These clamps are generally used in cold air applications; e.g., post-catalytic-converter in exhaust systems.

NORMA Products manufactures a wide range of clamps and connectors that are used globally in automotive, heavy truck and industrial applications. Examples include FBS (constant tension), TORRO® (worm-drive), Cobra (low-profile), GBS (heavy-duty), and RSGU (pipe).

NORMA Products (U.S.), Inc., headquartered in Wixom, Mich., is the North American subsidiary of Rasmussen GmbH of Germany.

TORX® is a registered trademark of Textron Inc.
