Rehabco Introduces the LifeGlider 3000

Patented exercise and rehab chair creates a whole new rehabilitation and exercise category for hospitals, nursing homes, physical therapy practices and health and fitness centers

ROANOKE, Va., Feb. 1 /- Physical therapist Alan Reitz was frustrated when he couldn't find the right equipment for his patients to exercise safely and effectively between therapy sessions. He set out to find a way for elderly or injured people to safely gain the benefit of basic exercises such as walking or standing up and sitting down.

The result of Reitz's vision is the LifeGlider 3000 from Rehabco Inc., a patented exercise and rehabilitation chair that has broad applications and potential for hospitals, nursing homes, physical therapy practices and health and fitness centers.

Now in full production and for sale, the LifeGlider 3000 is designed to help those who have difficulty with basic motions but also need the therapeutic value of exercise. Initial deliveries are scheduled for March 2007. The chair, while designed to feel like a recliner or rocking chair in comfort, is a fully supported platform which provides the ability to improve strength and endurance.

Designed to provide a healthy workout for those who are non ambulatory due to age, illness or trauma, the LifeGlider 3000 is ideal for a variety of treatments including:

o Recovering from hip or knee surgery
o Cardiac and stroke rehabilitation
o Fall prevention therapy
o Arthritis therapy
o Alzheimer's exercise therapy.

LifeGlider 3000 was specifically created to improve strength and endurance in a way that's easy to use.

"There are thousands of patients in nursing homes and hospitals who need the therapeutic benefits of walking but are not able to for a variety of reasons," said Reitz. "Essentially, we have created a chair that combines the benefits of walking with the security of sitting. It is a whole new category of exercise equipment."
