Local, SNMP or WEB management, HIPER-Ring redundancy, and redundant 24 V power inputs are standard. Switches are suited for applications requiring Fast Ethernet LANs with media redundancy. They provide connectivity for factory, process, and transportation automation systems.

Hirschmann Introduces New Managed Ethernet Rail Switch
Hirschmann Electronics, Germantown, Maryland, has introduced the RS2-16M family of managed industrial Ethernet switches. The RS2-16M was developed for applications where the need exists to create high availability, Fast Ethernet LAN’s with media redundancy. It provides connectivity for factory, process and transportation automation systems, where there is a demand for robust, reliable, and user-friendly industrial switches with high port density and fail-safe capabilities. It does this while maintaining the same form factor of Hirschmann’s current seven port RS2-FXFX and RS2-TXTX managed switches.
The RS2-16M provides 14 ports, 10/100BASE-TX, RJ45 plus two variable uplink ports in multiple variations of twisted pair copper, multimode, or single mode fiber, as well as long haul up to 86 kilometers between switches. Local, SNMP or WEB management, HIPER-Ring redundancy, and redundant 24V power inputs are also standard with the RS2-16M.
