900 MHz and 2.4 GHz Industrial Frequency Hopping Ethernet Radios

ProSoft Technology's new Industrial Frequency Hopping Ethernet radios are license-free and are available for both the 900 MHz (RLX-IFH9E) and the 2.4 GHz (RLX-IFH24E) bands. Frequency hopping radios use a proprietary signal that hops from channel to channel, which provides the wireless network with an extra layer of security, allowing it to avoid interference with existing wireless networks.

Applications

ProSoft Technology's 900 MHz radios are ideal for high-speed, long-range Ethernet SCADA applications, or applications with challenging paths including penetration of foliage and walls. The 2.4 GHz also provide high-speed, long-range Ethernet communication, but they use an international unlicensed frequency and can be used when 900 MHz is not permitted.

Ethernet

The Ethernet radios offer best-in-class speed of 1.1 Mbps to support large networks and industrial Ethernet, including support for EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP/IP. They are equipped with a serial port that can be used to pull data from a serial device and send to a client via wireless Ethernet.

Industrial Frequency Hopping Features

All RLX-IFH radios are scalable and offer an unmatched, rich set of features, such as 128 bit AES encryption, a full 1 watt of transmit power, programmable frequencies and data rates, and a rugged industrial grade Class I Div 2 rated enclosure. They are also equipped with a serial port, enabling the radio to act as a RS-232/485 serial device server. For configuration and advanced network-wide diagnostics, the radios use ControlScape Configuration and Diagnostic Software, an easy to use graphic interface for configuration and network-wide diagnostics. An OPC server is also included to enable wireless network monitoring within HMI screens.

The RLX-IFH radios support distances up to 15 miles for the 2.4 GHz band and 30 miles for the 900 MHz band if they operate with a point-to-point connection, high gain directional antennas, and clear line of sight.

All RadioLinx products are license free and ISA 12.12.01 Class I, Division 2 approved for hazardous environments.
