Cambridge, ON - Class 1 Inc. is pleased to receive its Class II medical device license from Health Canada for its new conservation valve. The conservation valve is designed to mount directly to any inhalation anesthetic machine. Many waste anesthetic gas disposal (WAGD) systems currently operate continuously, regardless of whether the anesthetic machines are in use or not. With Class 1's conservation valve, internal sensors detect when a patient is connected to the anesthetic apparatus, enabling the WAGD, and thus reducing both energy and wear and tear on pumps. The conservation valve also works alongside Class 1's Halogenated Drug Recovery system, improving its performance by concentrating the drugs up to nine times for more efficient capture. Safety features of the conservation valve include a manual override and a failsafe design, which revert the WAGD system back to full continuous scavenging in the event of internal failure or power loss.
Class 1 Inc. is helping hospitals help our planet.
