Ross Controls Unveils Its New Stainless Steel L-O-X® Valve

(TROY, MI) - ROSS CONTROLS is pleased to announce the introduction of its new Stainless Steel L-O-X® energy isolation valve. For applications where corrosion or contaminants are a concern, the Stainless Steel L-O-X® offers an easy and reliable solution.

The valve keeps the proven L-O-X® performance and easy-to-identify shape, while providing a new corrosion-resistant stainless steel construction. As with the all L-O-X® products, the stainless steel valve is lockable only in the OFF position (with a tamperproof locking mechanism) and has a large exhaust port for rapid pressure relief. The Stainless Steel L-O-X® is available in port sizes ¼" to 2" and is easy to operate-it provides direct manual operation by a simple push/pull of the handle.

With its stainless steel construction and self-draining capability, this rugged valve is an excellent solution for washdown applications. Furthermore, its standard VITON seals provide reliable protection against contaminant ingression. The Stainless Steel L-O-X® is an asset in many applications including:

  • Food and Beverage
  • Pharmaceutical
  • Pulp and Paper
  • Chemical Processing
  • Oil and Gas
  • Off-Shore Industries

The Stainless Steel L-O-X® valve comes standard with a pressure sensing port which allows the optional installation of a pop-up indicator or pressure switch. These options are designed to provide a visual indication that pressure to the next downstream obstruction has been released,. This convenient feature assists in allowing the authorized employee to meet the verification requirement found in OSHA, ANSI, and CSA standards. ROSS offers both an indicator and a switch as accessories for the valve.

As an industry leader in pneumatic safety products since 1921, ROSS CONTROLS always strives to stay abreast of current safety requirements. The new Stainless Steel L-O-X® is no exception, and it meets or exceeds the following standards:

  • OSHA 29 CFR 1910.47
  • CSA Z142.10
  • CSA Z460-05
  • ISO 13849-1
