New Series 7 High Performance End Mills from SGS Tool Company Feature Variable Pitch Fluting Geometry

SGS Tool Company, the industry leader in high performance tool design, introduces a new end mill that provides precision performance and high production rates with minimal chatter.

Series 7 High Performance End Mills feature variable pitch fluting geometry that provides improved chatter suppression, longer tool life, better surface finishes and higher productivity rates. Manufactured with a rigid construction using certified premium micro-grain carbide, Series 7 High Performance End Mills also deliver reduced harmonics and reduced radial side deflection allowing for improved side wall straightness.

In a chatter comparison test performed in 4140 Alloy Steel @ 28HRc, a conventional long end mill produced maximum amplitude of 79, as compared to the Series 7, which produced maximum amplitude of 18. The capacity for superior chatter suppression means Series 7 High Performance End Mills deliver a better surface finish, as well. In a finish cut comparison using the Mitutoyo Surftest Surface Finish Analyzer, the conventional long end mill resulted in 58.5 Ra, compared to the Series 7 End Mill at 9.7 Ra.

Exceptional for use in a variety of materials up to 45 Rc, Series 7 High Performance End Mills are available in ball and square end sizes and are coated with SGS' exclusive Ti-NAMITE-AŽ (AlTiN) coating for increased tool life and higher productivity.

Headquartered in Munroe Falls, OH, SGS Tool Company's single focus is on solid carbide rotary cutting tools which are all manufactured with pride in the USA.
