SecurStar Releases New Versions of Its Encryption Solutions with Windows Vista Compatibility
MUNICH, Germany, Feb. 27 -- SecurStar GmbH, German software developer of security and data encryption products, has updated its DriveCrypt products compatible with Microsoft's new Windows Vista operating system.
According to Microsoft, Vista offers its users broad security and greater organizational features. SecurStar, therefore, has adapted the DriveCrypt encryption software for this new working format, looking to satisfy the requirements of its 4.5 million users and taking into account the security of the sensitive information in their desktops and laptops.
DriveCrypt 4.6
DriveCrypt 4.6 provides data encryption for confidential information stored in notebooks and desktop computers in a fast and secure way with its "on the fly" encryption. Some features give users the possibility of encrypting an entire hard disk partition or creating a "virtual safe" container for storing encrypted files, preventing attackers from accessing sensitive information. Protected data may be accessed by password or, optionally, a USB token, smart card or fingerprint reader.
An additional special feature is the option to encrypt confidential data using steganography. This function allows for "hiding" any type of data inside a music file.
DriveCrypt Plus Pack 3.9
DriveCrypt Plus Pack, with its 3.9 version compatible with Windows Vista, encrypts 100% of a hard disk, including the operating system, and guarantees data security by using AES 256-bit military-strength data encryption.
One important feature allows for the creation of a false operating system, and the "hiding" and encrypting of the real one. There will be two operating systems, therefore, one visible (false) and the other hidden (the real one). Each operating system has its own password, so if a user is forced by the attacker to reveal the password, the fake password can be given away, and the attacker will only gain access to the "fake data".
For these and other functionalities of the DriveCrypt products, they are considered one of the safest security solutions on the market.
DriveCrypt Plus Pack Enterprise Edition
DriveCrypt Plus Pack Enterprise Edition completes the DriveCrypt encryption software products, with a corporate solution. A central management console allows system administrators to easily deploy and control the security software company-wide from one single location.
The new versions of the software became available for download and upgrade on the website http://www.securstar.com/ on January 30th of this year.
